This stick appeared in the back yard on Saturday, and upon initial inspection, seemed firm, rigid and fresh. It was likely knocked off the tree by a larger limb in a storm. Excited by the prospect of a new stick, I retrieved it into my mouth, and in exalted ecstasy, I ran several laps around the house before settling down for a prolonged chew. The front chew revealed notes of dirt and sand with hints of bahia grass and clover. After about twenty minutes, the chew began to really open up, and the fibers of the cellulose really began to breathe. Normally by this time, the average live oak stick will fragment into a mess of wet splinters and pulp, but this stick really held together wonderfully. I would put this stick as one of the top of the year so far. The mouth feel was extremely pleasant, and I was delighted by the length of chew.
